Site-Specific Sound Installations

Rotterdam

These acoustic interventions are designed to integrate pragmatically into the urban environment. The compositional process begins directly on location with field recordings; in the studio, these recordings are processed and interwoven with sonic structures to form multi-channel audio pieces.

The resulting acoustics react to the respective site; they range from raw and angular to atmospheric textures.

At the Pier

A spatial audio composition responding to the architecture and movement at the landing stage; field recordings are processed into a site-specific multi-channel setup.

Behind the Oasis

An intuitive sonic mapping located behind OASE. Rhythmic structures are interlocked with the acoustic signature of the immediate urban surroundings.

In the Garden Quarter

Organic soundscapes reflecting the intersection of urban planning and nature; displaced field recordings are routed through discrete audio channels.

Chinese Pavilion

A 4-channel piece largely produced directly on site. Using digital instruments, analog equipment, and various microphones, an acoustic dialogue with the ambient sounds was created; in the studio, this material was subsequently interwoven with archival sounds.
